Work Camper Program

Travelers interested in staying and working at either the Augusta Forestry Center or New Kent Forestry Center can do so through the Work Camper Program.New Kent Forestry Center Campground

Full-time campers volunteer at least ten hours of work per week per person in return for their stay at the facility. Both facilities offer a diversity of work interests, ranging from collecting and planting seed, to tree seedling grafting and greenhouse work, grounds keeping and carpentry. There is something for everyone at our nurseries.

Our campground has been featured in “Workcamper News,” and both are so popular that many travelers have returned more than once. Since the campgrounds stay booked, campers are reminded to call well in advance to secure a site.
