The perfect meeting place? We're like you; we don't think such a place exists. So we set out to create the next best thing – the Virginia Department of Forestry's New Kent Conference Center. Conveniently located between Richmond and Williamsburg, the New Kent Conference Center opened in the spring of 2006 and combines a modern meeting facility with 16 guest rooms that are handicap accessible.
The conference center is located at the New Kent Forestry Center, a working nursery of the Virginia Department of Forestry, where research and tree improvement practices such as grafting take place.
The centerpiece of the New Kent Conference Center is the main meeting room, which will accommodate as many as 40 people in a variety of table and seating configurations. The room features a ceiling-mounted display unit capable of projecting PowerPoint and DVD/video presentations; a warming kitchen with refrigerator, ice machine, utensils, glassware and china; accessible restrooms, and other features designed to provide the best meeting experience possible.
The meeting room is available for ½-day, full-day or multiple-day events. You may choose to have your event catered or, if you are on a tight budget, you can bring your own food and beverages. Whatever your preference, the New Kent Conference Center staff will work with you from start to finish to ensure your meeting happens as planned.
To accommodate overnight stays, the New Kent Conference Center offers 16 double-occupancy rooms and one fully accessible single-occupancy room. That means as many as 31 people can “rest easy” after the day's meeting and, with a good night's sleep be re-energized for the next day's activities.
Sixteen motel-style rooms feature two twin beds, cable TV, phone, large desk and chair, dressing area, en-suite bathroom, linens and towels, iron and ironing board, and other amenities designed to make your overnight stay an enjoyable one. A fully accessible room is set up with one twin bed, a roll in-roll out shower and all the amenities provided in the other rooms.
The site features a nature trail, access to the Chickahominy River and several tree orchards.
Located on Route 60 in Providence Forge, the New Kent Conference Center sits on more than 400 tranquil acres of forest nursery land and is located just 25 miles east of downtown Richmond and 25 miles west of Williamsburg:
