Accessibility Policy

The Virginia Department of Forestry is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all users, including individuals with disabilities. We strive to meet or exceed the standards set forth by the Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), including the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.

We actively work to improve the usability and accessibility of our website and digital services by:

  • Designing content to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards
  • Ensuring compatibility with screen readers, keyboard navigation, and assistive technologies
  • Providing alternative text for images and non-text content
  • Maintaining sufficient color contrast and scalable text
  • Avoiding reliance on color alone to convey information
  • Ensuring forms, buttons, and interactive elements are clearly labeled and accessible

We conduct regular audits and testing to identify and resolve accessibility issues. Our goal is to provide a seamless experience for all users, regardless of ability.
