Nursery Operations in Pictures

Virginia Department of Forestry (VDOF) has two nurseries, Augusta Forestry Center in Crimora, VA, and Garland Gray Forestry Center in Courtland, VA. Augusta Forestry Center, located in the mountains of Shenandoah Valley, is the primary nursery for growing hardwood and spruce species. While Garland Gray Forestry Center, located in the sandy soils of southeastern Virginia, is the primary nursery for loblolly and longleaf pine.
