2026 Virginia Interagency Wildland Fire Academy

DOF’s 2026 Statewide Interagency Wildfire Academy will be on the campus of Longwood University the week of May 27 – 30, 2026.
A special two-week registration period, exclusively for all full time DOF employees, is now open. Course Information and the registration process is accessed through the following link: Longwood 2026 Registration – FT DOF Only
Registration is free for all full-time employees. Please work with your immediate supervisor to gain the approval of your training plans.

Only full-time employees can register at this time. If anyone other than full-time DOF employees register during this initial period, their registrations are invalid, will be deleted, and any registration fee submitted will not be refunded.
Regular open registration for the academy will begin on Monday, February 23th, 2026. A formal announcement and updated registration link will be coming out at that time.
Confirmed fulltime DOF instructors should also register as an instructor through this same link. Non-DOF instructors must wait until after February 23, 2026 to complete their needed registration information.
